A Night At The Museum

by Sarah Peguine | 20.09.15

One of our favorite Israeli musicians/producers is without a doubt Kutiman.

Since 2009 with “Thru You” – his unique and innovative videos have always gone viral: his speciality is to mix different musicians and blend them into a new composition/piece. Kutiman’s starting point in his projects is youtube videos of musicians he has never met like in his recent project “Thru You Too” or musicians he has met and shot in real life like in his video “Thru Jerusalem”.

This Thursday is your chance to enjoy live music by Kutiman and the Orchestra, technology and free access to the galleries at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art at the event: “Mix the City”.

In “Mix the City” Kutiman has recorded a four-minute YouTube video of musicians that represent the diverse voices of Tel Aviv. Watch it by clicking here.

The project invites people from all over the world to create their own interpretation of Tel Aviv. Co-commissioned by The British Council and The Space (a commissioner of art that employs technology to push the boundaries of creative expression), the interactive online music video let’s you create your own mix from a set of 12 filmed tracks performed by musicians living in the city.

Starting at the event at the Tel Aviv Museum and until June 2016, visitors will be able to create their own video of Tel Aviv by accessing the interactive platform which will be screened on the walls of the Riklis Foyer. The project will culminate with a show at the museum for multi-talent Kutiman. Much to look forward to!
